As I walked into Baby P's beautiful home nestled high above the town of Desert Hills I was awe struck at how Amazing it was! The attention to detail was evident thru-out this home...there was not one tiny detail that wasn't thought out by this home's builder! Of course that Builder was this gorgeous little girls daddy!
I was so honored to be asked by this family to capture there newest little addition that arrived just 2 short months ago! However, this wasn't the first time I had the pleasure of meeting this little bag of sugar sweetness! We tried to capture some images of her about 3 weeks ago...although at that time she decided she wasn't ready to have her moment with me or my camera. But on this day whey I arrived she was all wrapped up in a moss green blanket and swinging contently in her swing with sweet music playing from the mobile above her little head. She was dressed in a light pink romper and as I stood there taking in all 8 lbs of her I couldn't believe how much she had changed in just 3 short weeks. Her little cheeks had filled out so much and she weighed at least 5 lbs more than the last time I had seen her. Her little skin had cleared up and she no longer looked like the helpless newborn. Standing just a few feet from her was her "Big" sister smiling proudly... she was also dressed in what looked to be her "Sunday" best. She was so excited to hold her baby sister and to have family pictures taken with her. As I picked baby "P" up from her temporary bed, she shifted her weight in my arms and fell contently back asleep in my secure and loving arms. I hardly wanted to give her up for any reason even if it was to place her gently into her "Big" sisters awaiting arms. Her smile got even bigger as her baby sister was placed in her loving arms, she looked down at her adoringly and couldn't help but kiss her on the cheek. She stared down at her as if to take in every detail of this sleeping Angel, I almost felt guilty as my camera snapped away. I felt like such an intrusion, in this delicate moment that was passing between these two. But isn't that why I was hired...to capture the emotion that was felt by the arrival of this little girl into this family.. .?
This photos shoot was not the posed sessions that I am used to for Newborn shoots, it was more relaxed! I enjoyed it, and as I look back thru these photos I am reminded of this precious family and all of the love that filled this home that Sunday afternoon!
Here are just a few of my favorite photos from our session! I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
