Matties Bridal Shower
The count down is on for this bride-to-be, but this past weekend she got to celebrate and enjoy this fun day with her closest friends and family!
The party began with a decadent spread of food across the entire kitchen, with all gathered around in idle chit chat. As I looked around and took in all of the sites and sounds of this wonderful group of woman who had gathered in celebration for Mattie I couldn't help but think of the first time that I met this grown woman.
She was 5 years old when I first me her, she was shy but yet had such a quiet confidence about her. She had long light brown hair that was pulled back in a pony tail and secured with ribbons. As my oldest daughter discovered a new friend I also discovered a wonderful new friendship myself with her mom. Thru Brownie meetings, field trips and class parties I really got to know this beautiful child. Over the last 16 years Mattie has saved numerous quails that my children have found orphaned in the desert, volunteered at a Wild Animal Rescue Center...she has basically grown up right before my eyes.
I am so honored that Mattie and Zac wanted me to be a part of their wedding journey! I love them both and I am secretly jealous of the bond they have together...seriously they are going to be the old couple in the park, holding hands on a walk and stealing kisses while young married couples only can hold out a small inkling of hope for the same kind of love when they are in their 80's. As I watched them interact together during our Engagement Session I truly believed that Zac is Matties Soal Mate.
I can't wait for April 2nd when these two pledge their love to eachother...the day is going to be beautiful and I can't wait to celebrate with them! So until then enjoy some photos that I captured at her Bridal Shower!
