What do baby frogs, minnows and Tweens have in common? They make for amazing photographs!!!!
Arizona is known for it's amazing Monsoon skies and last night was no exception.
I was sitting at my desk yesterday around 4:00 and enjoying watching the clouds as they started to roll in from the East. They were starting to stretch their fluffy white brightness in all directions, and all I could think of was the palate of colors that would soon start to transform as the soon as the sun began to set. The newscasters had predicted that we might get some light showers so the anticipation was building in me knowing that we might get an amazing sky. I was determined to capture it!!! So I rushed home and grabbed one of my daughters who just happened to have freshly washed hair and was just hanging out watching TV. Gave her a 5 minute hairstyle, some simple make-up (at her request) and found 2 cute outfits! Then we rushed out the door and headed North until we just happened upon this amazing location! I would set up a cardboard box photo studio there if I could pull it off!!! The only thing that could have made the location Absolutely Perfect would have been an abandoned car.
I have not had a chance to break out my lights yet to see how much information I retained from Ali Hohn's Rock the OCF workshop that I took in Park City, UT a few weeks ago. Let me tell you it is not as easy as she makes it out to be!!! I need a lot more practice that is for sure but I am sooooo excited about the possibilities once I do get it!!! I am so thankful I am going back again in August for some more learning and I hope to have my own workshop with Ali Hohn in October to be held at the Arizona State Fair Grounds! Email me if you are interested and here is a link to Ali's workshop page... http://www.rockthatocf.com/
I am so thankful for this beautiful child that has blessed my life in so many ways! Samantha you are so loved by everyone in your life! Thank you for being as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. You are the best for letting me drag you everywhere to practice my love of photography! Even if frogs jump on you or spiders bite you, you are always a trooper! Big kisses and hugs to you my Sammy K!
